In San Antonio this past weekend, TLU
women’s volleyball defeated Puget Sound in 3-2 final count of sets. TLU starter
and number 3, Mackenzie Benson had 11 kills, number 20 Kristin Fording had 16
kills, and number 8 Megan Lee had 29 digs.
The Bulldog football team beat
Hardin-Simmons University Cowboy’s on the road 37-14, the first win ever for
the Bulldogs at HSU. A few play highlights include an interception made by
Drake Dowling that he ran back 57 yards for a touchdown. On the defense, Bryan
Doolittle had three sacks against the Cowboy’s QB, totaling 33 yards. Marquis
Barrolle rushed an impressive 215 yards and scored twice for the Bulldogs.
Friday the 12th TLU men’s soccer team
beat Schreiner 2-0 on the road. Nathan Drouillard and Issac Lopez put up the
points while keeper Jonathan Michael held down a shutout.
Women’s soccer was set to play on Friday
as well, but rain and lightning pushed the game to Saturday. On Saturday, the
women beat Schreiner 2-0. Freshmen Meredith Jamail and Zoe Gulick put the
points up for TLU while Sophomore Erin Rose shut down each goal attempt from
Schreiner.
On Sunday, the men’s golf team finished
as a team in third at the Rhodes Collegiate Classic in Tunica Mississippi. Two
of the team members finished in the top 10, Kraig Zimmerhanzel in third, and
Tyler Kolb in seventh.
